Growing in Faith
The Bible tells us very little about Jesus before he became an adult. However, it does summarize his early years by saying that he grew older, Jesus also matured in wisdom and in favor with God and people (Luke 2:52).
Now that Christmas Day is behind us, we often find ourselves during these final days of the year thinking about the New Year ahead. What will 2019 hold? How will my life be different a year from now? What resolutions should I make for the New Year? The example of Jesus offers us an excellent model for our own growth. Here are a few questions to get us thinking in that direction.
Growing in wisdom: What decisions and plans will I make for the coming year? How will I be wise in the things I do?
Growing in favor with God: How will I grow closer to God this year? What habits should I develop to strengthen my relationship with God? What should I remove from my life?
Growing in favor with people: How will I be intentional about my human relationships? What needs to change in order for me to be more present in the lives of those closest to me? How will I make a positive impact on all the people I come in contact with this year?
