A Beautiful Voice in Your Neighborhood

The trailer was recently released for the upcoming film about Mr. Rogers, called A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, starring Tom Hanks. This film is a timely reminder of the positive impact that Mr. Rogers had on a generation of viewers. Even though his television show ended many years ago, Fred Rogers continues to be a positive counter-balance to a society in which hate-filled public rhetoric has become commonplace.

His quiet, gentle, yet influential legacy continues to remind us that we cannot combat the violent speech of others by adding more of the same. When others spew hate, we are called to speak the language of love.

Fred Rogers reminds us that we don’t need to be loud to be heard. Words of love carry much farther than we might think. God has given you a voice that carries influence on those around you. How will you use your voice?
