Are We There Yet?

You’ve probably taken a road trip from time to time. The journey itself can be fun, but at some point someone will ask, Are we there yet?

This is a good description of our experience of the Advent season. The weeks leading up to Christmas are often filled with numerous preparations. There are decorations, lists, gifts to buy, and events to attend. Quite a lot of getting ready involved!

Just as we eagerly prepare for the arrival of Christmas, faithful Christians live each day in that space of preparing for arrival of Jesus. We see God at work, but we see room for improvement in our lives and in the world around us. Life is a journey; we’re not there yet. In the meantime, how will you get ready?
