Fear Not!

Recently I came across a hilarious truth about life: Never in the history of calming down has anyone ever calmed down by being told to calm down. It’s funny, but there’s a powerful reality behind that. Telling someone to do something doesn’t always help them to do it.

The same reality applies to our fears. I’ve heard some people claim that “fear not” appears 365 times in the Bible, one for every day of the year. I’ve never counted them all, but it’s there a lot.

During our online worship we will look at several of these over the coming weeks. But a command to “fear not” doesn’t always produce the desired results of us. We’ll explore that a little deeper, including ways that we really can calm our fears.

There’s much to be afraid of these days. But the Bible’s repeated message to us is that God has not designed us to live in fear. Wherever you are these days, join us for online worship as we begin to look at our fears differently!
