Let It Begin with Me
I keep thinking about that song that goes, “Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me.”
That initial line strikes at the heart of what our world truly needs. We typically think of peace in terms of what needs to change in other people. It’s easy to blame our current unrest on bad cops or violent agitators. And to be sure, plenty of positive change needs to happen in people around us.
We tell ourselves that something needs to change and someone needs to do something. But it’s harder to envision ourselves as initiators of positive change in the world.
How will peace on earth begin with you, right now, today? What will you say today that will change the shape of your conversations? How will your actions change the actions of people around you? Will your activism be limited to online and social media?
Blessings,
