The Blessing of Giving

I did not expect that my perspective on Christmas would change once I had children of my own, but it did.

When we’re young, we look forward to Christmas mainly because of the gifts we hope to receive. But when I had my own family, I suddenly began to look forward to the gifts that the kids would receive. Nothing beats being an onlooker to that feeling of surprise and pure joy.

There are moments in life when we discover that giving to others brings real blessing to ourselves. The blessings that we receive from giving might be intangible, but they are real and significant all the same.

How can God help to change our perspective more often? How can we begin to experience true joy from giving to others?
