What’s In a Name?

Some of us have a nickname or a pet name. Some of us go by a name that is entirely different from our “real” name. Sometimes names can stick with us for our entire life. And they often tell others something about us.

Many centuries before the birth of Jesus, the prophet Isaiah envisioned the birth of a child who would be king. Isaiah applied names to this king to describe someone who was truly unique: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

This Sunday we begin the Advent season of preparation for the coming of Jesus our King. Join us each week as we anticipate the birth of the King of Kings!
