Does God ever speak to you through your dreams?

In the Bible dreams are a frequent way that God communicates to people. Jacob dreamed of a ladder with angels ascending and descending between heaven and earth (Genesis 28). Solomon chose wisdom when God appeared to him in a dream and offered him anything as the king of Israel (1 Kings 3). Babylon’s King Nebuchadnezzar dreamed of a huge statue with clay feet that was shattered to pieces (Daniel 2). And there are many more examples.

This week in worship, we will look at the Egyptian Pharaoh’s strange dream and Joseph’s interpretation of it (Genesis 41). We will see that not only does God give Joseph the ability to interpret the meaning of the dream, he works through Joseph to carry it out.

What about your dreams for 2021? Where do you see God speaking to you about your life? And what about your plans for an uncertain year ahead? Do you believe that the God of your dreams can be the God of your plans to carry them out?
