Praying with Jesus
“Lord, teach us to pray,” Jesus’ disciples once asked him. When you think about it, it’s interesting that they viewed prayer as something that needed to be taught. Is there a right way to pray? Have we been praying wrong?
Generally speaking, the problem is not that there are proper and improper ways to pray, nor that we’re doing it wrong. It’s not that we need to be taught how to pray, but if anything, we need to be taught to pray. Prayer is often a desperation move when we’ve exhausted other options. We tend to go to God when we need something big.
I invite you to join us for worship online each week, as we look at Praying with Jesus. Jesus’ prayer life reveals so much more happening in prayer than simply going to his heavenly Father with his big problems. And prayer can be more than that for each one of us, too.
Blessings,
Pastor Paul Cook
