A Life of Prayer

A Life of Prayer

What motivates your life? What is the fuel that pushes you out of bed each morning?

Many of us are motivated by a variety of factors. We might be passionate about caring for our family. Some of us really love the challenges and opportunities of our job so much that we can’t wait to see what each day holds.

Jesus did a lot of things during his life and ministry on earth. The New Testament gospels tell us about one-on-one conversations, teaching large crowds, healing people, challenging religious and political authorities, and feeding the hungry.

But one of the most important things Jesus did was spend regular time in prayer. The picture that we see of Jesus in prayer is not merely the exercise of saying words, but the intentional nurturing of a relationship with his heavenly Father. This is the basis that supports his entire life and ministry.

What role does prayer play in your life? Is prayer occasional or routine for you? Is it just talking to God or a relationship with God? How will prayer shape your life this week?

Blessings,
Pastor Paul Cook
