God’s Green Earth Day
In our worship online each week, we are currently looking at God’s Green Earth. As the psalmist wrote, “The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it” (Psalm 24:1).
Earth Day is an excellent opportunity to reflect on the powerful truths contained in the words of that psalm. The earth is God’s–not ours. And everything on earth belongs to God–not us.
This is about more than simply appreciating nature and the beauty of God’s creation. It’s about acknowledging that God is both owner and Lord of everything around us, including the things that we call our own.
So where do we, as part of God’s created order, fit into all this? What should our role be, as citizens of God’s Green Earth? I invite you to worship with us this Sunday as we explore this exact topic. As we will see, we are God’s people tasked with a special mandate on God’s Green Earth!
Blessings,
Pastor Paul Cook
