Gifted for God’s Work
I have often admired people with real artistic talent. I’ve also admired people who show compassion for others so naturally and easily. I’m amazed when I am around people who seem to know the right thing to say at the right time. And it thoroughly impresses me when people are able to anticipate and organize all the details of a plan.
Every day I see gifts in other people that I simply don’t have. But I’m aware that by the same token, I have certain gifts that aren’t strong in others. It’s a reminder to me of how different we all really are! But it’s also a reminder of how God works.
God’s has gifted all of us not for our own edification, but to carry out God’s work in the world. We are each gifted uniquely because we are each called uniquely. The work to which God has called me is different from God’s calling for you. What has God called you to do in the world? And what gifts has God given you to accomplish that?
Blessings,
Pastor Paul Cook
