Tight Circumstances

In tight circumstances, I cried out to the LORD. The LORD answered me with wide-open spaces. Psalm 118 CEB

Life can make us feel trapped. Trapped in our circumstances, trapped in unhealthy thoughts and patterns of behavior, trapped in having a lack-luster faith life, but the psalmist declares that the Lord will answer us with wide-open spaces. Things do not have to stay the way they were. Relief can come through change. Having wiggle room where we felt constricted can give us immediate freedom, but God answers our closed-in place with more than wiggle room. God answers with a multitude of choices, freedoms, and space for the Holy Spirit to guide into a new direction and a new perspective on the place that once felt tight. Accept the freedom the Lord gives!
