Doing Good
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9 NIV
At the last food pantry distribution, I arrived at 8:50 am knowing that usually the line of cars ready to receive pre-packed bags of food will have dissipated. Instead, I saw a stream of cars still lined up on Montego Bay. I had arrived ready to help unload the storage container, make it ready for removal, so that construction could begin on the new road that will connect Old Cutler Road and the back side of Cornerstone’s parking lot. I walked through the lot from the back of the office lawn and saw the anxiety filled expressions of the people waiting with their trunks popped open. They were afraid there would not be enough food. Similarly, the workers who had been there since the wee hours of the morning to prepare the bags, direct traffic, sign people in, and run the assembly had sweaty, sun- soaked, drawn faces. They wanted to feed all the people. I was so encouraged by their determination and love for people they do not know. As the price of food and gasoline increases, indeed the cost of living generally, there are and will be more hungry neighbors amongst us. I am so proud to be the pastor of a church who genuinely cares for others. Do not become weary in the good you are doing! You are meeting a great need in our community. I am grateful for you!
In Christ,
