A Time for Renewal
But those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
Isaiah 40:31 (New Revised Standard Version Updated Edition)
In church culture, the summers tend to slow down, at least from the outside. There may be fewer special programs or musical presentations, but the summer is when there is space to be still, to wait until the Lord speaks. The community and individuals need periods of rest and renewal so that strengthening and the “running” of life is possible. Wait. Pray. Discern. So that we can run and run with purpose. I pray that each of us joins together to discern the next faithful steps for Cornerstone. May you feel God’s renewing strength today!
In Christ,
Rev. Elyse Milligan Nielsen
