Pray Boldly

Pray Boldly

“Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”
Hebrews 4:14-16 NIV

Part of prayer is bringing our requests before God and waiting with anticipation on His answers. This Advent, may we recognize how dependent we are on God. Be bold in your prayers when you approach the throne of grace. How does knowing Jesus faced difficulty on earth give you boldness to approach God through prayer?
Scripture reminds us that Jesus is able to sympathize with our weakness. Jesus knows what it is to experience everything a human being does: suffering, pain, temptation, betrayal, and so on! Jesus cried out to God in some of his darkest moments. We can cry out to God too and God will meet us at our point of need. Pray boldly, wait expectantly, and trust that God will answer our prayers.

In Christ,
