He Is Worthy Of Our Praise!
The Lord Is Worthy Of Our Praise
He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in him. Psalm 40:3
Saturday night I called Linda and Reuben to get coverage for Sunday morning, because the whole Nielsen household had a terrible cold. Eric and I were excusing away our symptoms as maybe allergies or just tiredness because of being up with the baby, but by 9pm when Eleanor sneezed three times in a row, we knew it was something more. I am so grateful that the team decided to lead worship in song and through reading scripture. Thank you also for participating with warmth and energy! For newcomers and for those who have been around awhile it can be a refreshing change to hear proclamation through hymns. The psalmist knew there was another reference in scripture where God gives the people a new song. Previously, the people sang during their slave labors. The new song God gives is liberation and comfort, therefore the response is praise that tells of God’s goodness and converts. It is clear what can happen when people praise God together; “many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in him.” God changes our tune in more than one way. Many thanks again for leading and worshipping together while I was home resting.
In Christ,
