God, You Are My Shield!
In the truest sense, we are vulnerable, finite, and fragile. Even the physically, emotionally, and spiritually strongest amongst us need protection from outside and inside forces that would see us beat and downtrodden. The Lord is the great protector and comforter. I wonder if we would ever stop praising God if we knew all the ways we were protected without our knowledge. Near misses help us realize how God protects, but what about when we have no idea about it? We hear about a terrible car accident, a poor health diagnosis, or a violent crime and think, “but for the grace of God go I.” Give thanks to God today for shielding us from all that could harm us.
