Give thanks to the Lord, call on His name!

And on that day you will say, “Give thanks to the LORD, call on His name. Make known His deeds among the peoples; make them remember that His name is exalted.” Praise the LORD in song, for He has done glorious things; let this be known throughout the earth. 
                                                                                                                      Isaiah 12:4-5

This November as we prepare our homes, meals, and hearts for celebrations with our families and friends, remember to give thanks. Share the stories or indeed sing the song of thanksgiving of what God has done for you. What deeds has He done for you? With those closest to you sitting at the table tell how God has moved on your behalf. Was it a situation that was worked out? Did an unforeseen opportunity suddenly appear? Was money needed that you found you could move the budget around when it seemed like all was lost? In the Small Group that meets Sunday after worship, we start the session off by asking for glory sightings- where we see God working. It has been life-giving to hear the stories of other people recognizing the Holy Spirit healing, teaching, assuring, convicting, and making a way in everyday people’s lives. Part of our attitude of gratitude comes from proclaiming the glorious works of God to others.
