Poured Out: Forgiveness

Poured Out: Forgiveness

Driving anywhere can produce a thousand little annoyances. Someone pulls out in front of you and drives way too slow. Then, another car scares you as it zips past way too fast. Yet another car meanders around, clearly unfamiliar with the area.

Doesn’t anyone know how to drive properly? We might think that our driving is flawless, but sometimes we’re the one who pulls into the road, slowing down traffic. Other times, we’re in a hurry and impatient toward other cars. And on occasion, we find ourselves driving aimlessly in unfamiliar territory.

Christians are, by definition, people of grace and forgiveness. Our faith is based on the trust that God has forgiven us of our wrongdoing. We know we’re not perfect people, and we are grateful for God’s endless supply of grace.

As much as we value God’s forgiveness of us, it’s much more difficult for us to show forgiveness to others. We remember past hurts, we sometimes nurse resentment, and we easily spot flaws in others. But what if God’s forgiveness of us were the key to helping us forgive others? Join us this Sunday as we discover how to be people who can forgive.

Blessings,
Pastor Paul Cook
