A Colorful Kingdom

A Colorful Kingdom

Some of the most inspiring worship experiences in my life have been in cross-cultural settings. It doesn’t happen often, but a few times in my life I have had the privilege of worshiping with people from a different geographic area, culture, and even language.

In those kinds of environments, the songs weren’t generally familiar, the traditions were new to me, and sometimes I didn’t understood anything that anyone was saying. Normally, these are the things that make worship meaningful for us.

But more than anything else, what is most compelling in a cross-cultural worship experience is the awareness that the Spirit of God is present, despite being so different from the familiar. If you ever have the opportunity to worship in a different way or with a different group of people, treasure that. It’s a good reminder that God is much bigger than our limited experience!

Blessings,
