Family History
You might be familiar with a few stories from the Old Testament: Noah and the ark, Moses and the Red Sea, David and Goliath, etc. But these are stories about people living in distant lands during a far distant era. Some of these Sunday School stories may convey an important lesson for us, but other than that, they have little in common with life as we know it.
It’s helpful for us to view the Bible not just as a collection of stories, but as the grand story of God at work among humanity. And as far as that goes, God is still working among us.
Since these stories are part of God’s story, they’re also part of our own story. This places us in an ongoing stream of God’s activity. And it’s every bit as real today as it was several millennia ago. The same God who provided safety for Noah and his family cares deeply about you and your family. Join us for worship over the next few weeks, as we discover how God’s story continues in us!
Blessings,
Pastor Paul Cook
