Storm Ready

Storm Ready

I’m not the most experienced person when it comes to tropical storms and hurricanes. But my few encounters have taught me a valuable lesson about hurricane preparedness: It’s really important to have supplies ready ahead of time.

By the time meteorologists are able to predict that a hurricane is most likely headed our way, it’s already too late to prepare adequately for the storm. Once we think that we need to get serious about buying supplies, the stores are already running out. By that time, the water is nearly gone from the shelves, the hardware store has sold out its generators, and the gas lines are already long.

In life, we encounter a variety of challenges that can hit us even more powerfully than any weather-related storm. And unfortunately, they often find us unprepared. When tragedy strikes, it shakes our faith. When life doesn’t turn out as we planned, we wonder why God hasn’t shown up.

Over the next few weeks, we will be talking about the storms in life that come as significant challenges. We will explore ways that we can be spiritually prepared for life’s twists and turns. Join us on Sundays as we get storm ready!

Blessings,
Pastor Paul Cook
