The Highest Power

The Highest Power

“I’d like to speak to the manager, please.”

Maybe you’ve spoken these words from time to time. Perhaps your experience at a restaurant or store has been unsatisfactory, and you decide to appeal to a higher authority. There’s a chain of command, and you’re prepared to climb upward until your concerns are addressed. But maybe you know the frustration of discovering that the person in front of you is the manager, the top boss, or the owner. You can’t go any further up.

When we pray to God, we easily forget that we are appealing directly to the God of the Universe, the One who made heaven and earth. Far beyond “going to corporate,” our prayers go directly to the King of Kings.

Praying gives us direct access to the One who can do something about our situation. Things might work out as we hope or God’s response could involve a change in ourselves. Whatever you might be praying about right now, remember that you are appealing to the Highest Power!

Blessings,
Pastor Paul Cook
