Creatures of Habit

Creatures of Habit

What habits do you keep? Maybe you always floss your teeth every day. Maybe your car automatically turns itself into Starbucks on the way to work. Maybe the first thing you do each day, even before getting out of bed, is reach for the phone and browse social media.

We all know that some habits are healthy and beneficial, while others have the potential to be harmful to ourselves and others. Often, an isolated action is harmless enough, but can become more serious if it forms into a habit.

We might think that we create or control our habits, but the opposite is also true: our habits create us. We are shaped by the things we do on a regular basis. The season of Lent offers an excellent opportunity for God to transform our lives through the habits we develop. Will God create something new in your life through your habits?

Blessings,
Pastor Paul Cook
