A Personal God

A Personal God

This Sunday many Christians celebrate Pentecost, which has its roots in ancient Judaism. After Jesus left his disciples and ascended into heaven they gathered together for the celebration of Pentecost. But as they assembled, God’s spirit came upon them in a powerful way and they encountered God not as the human Jesus, but as the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit continued to empower the earliest Christians to spread a movement across the Roman Empire.

Today, many people affirm the idea of God, but mostly as a concept; a far-off divine being. Fewer of us have come to experience God as a Person, actively involved in our everyday lives.

Over the next few weeks I want to invite you to worship with us online as we take a closer look at Life in the Spirit. God wants to be involved in your life in a personal way!

Blessings,
Pastor Paul Cook
