Finders Keepers

Finders Keepers

A year or two ago, we were walking back to the car in the dark after a UM football game at Hard Rock Stadium. While we were cutting through the huge parking lot our son found a $20 bill on the ground. There was no one around, many had already left, and would have been impossible to find the owner.

Our son was elated at his find, but felt bad that someone was missing their money. (I reassured him that it was probably just beer money, anyway!) All the same, rather than keep it, he chose to give it to our Rise Against Hunger fundraising effort at the time.

As we will see in our online worship this Sunday, Jesus described God’s kingdom as finding treasure unexpectedly. Indeed, sometimes we search to find our faith, while other times it finds us. What is the most valuable thing you’ve ever found?

Blessings,
Pastor Paul Cook
