A New Thing

A New Thing

Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?
I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.
Isaiah 43:19 (ESV)

God is doing a new thing at Cornerstone! In-Person worship begins again for the first time since March 2020. It will be the same, but different! There will be music, prayers, liturgies, preaching, and smiles. There may not be handshakes or hugs; smiles will come from behind masks. The preacher and preaching styles are different, but the word is still proclaimed. Songs may have new singers but will have a familiar tune. There are questions about how worship will go. Will people come? We have new sound and video equipment. How will they run? Will it be smooth? Preschool families have been invited. Banners have been purchased. We are preparing.  Do you  sense the newness?  God is doing a new and exciting thing. It is a thrilling time to see God unfold the future of Cornerstone before us. The prophet affirms that God will make a way in the expansive unknown and water in the desert. May our worship gatherings be a guiding light and an oasis for Spirit-thirsty people. On Sunday, you will hear my request again to pray for those not yet in our church, those who are not yet believers, and for our own long-time members to be rejuvenated. We may not know exactly how everything will go, but God is doing a new, springy, life-giving thing!

In Christ,
Pastor Elyse
